Challenge Coin

A member from my local Star Wars club hooked me up with this beauty of a coin. It's the 501st Legion Bloodfin Garrison challenge coin. For those not familiar with the challenge coin let me give you a brief summary.

In the military, supposedly the Army Air Corps of WWII (modern day USAF) an officer had some coins pressed and passed them to the pilots of his squadron. There the challenge coin was born.

The tradition is still alive today and an example as to how it is often used is that a member of an organization would pull his coin out and challenge a fellow member. If the fellow member failed to show his challenge coin then the loser of the challenge would but him a drink. If the challenged produced his coin then the challenger made his request then the challenger would have to buy him a drink.

p.s. Dont ever drop yours.
